Kid Rock recently announced his run for U.S. Senate in Michigan. According to Politico, things are looking pretty good for him:

“Presuming Kid Rock doesn’t get caught in bed with a little boy, or beat up a woman between now and August 2018, he’s going to win the nomination if he gets in,” says Dennis Lennox, a Republican political consultant in Michigan. “I think there’s no question about that. I think he’s the prohibitive favorite if he gets in.”

They continue,

“Trump competed with 16 rivals for the Republican nomination, more than a dozen of whom were established, well-regarded, well-financed campaigners; Ritchie [Kid Rock] would enter a primary field of three little-known newcomers to partisan politics.

Trump was targeted by a national network of influential donors and activists who laughed him off at first, only to mount a desperate scramble to thwart his candidacy once they realized their peril; Ritchie would face little such resistance in a state where primaries aren’t preordained by party bosses.

Trump started his run with no obvious base or blueprint for victory; Ritchie would launch a campaign on the strength of his favorite-son status that cuts across socioeconomic boundaries and is particularly resonant with the president’s winning coalition of culturally conservative, populist-minded, blue-collar voters.”

This being in mind, there are still quite a few controversies surrounding the star. He was arrested following a fight outside of a Waffle House, starred in a sex tape, plead guilty to assault charges following an altercation with a DJ at a Nashville strip club, and had a very public divorce from Pamela Anderson.

Much like Trump, Kid Rock’s mouth has also gotten him into quite a few controversies. He spoke with Rolling Stone about his distaste for Beyoncé because he liked “skinny white chicks with big tits” and stated his opinion on same sex marriage to the New Yorker “I don’t give a **** if gay people get married. I don’t love anybody who acts like a **** faggot”.

This being said, Kid Rock has been very charitable, especially to his hometown of Detroit. He has been known to donate millions to several charities and perform for free at charitable events. He even capped his concert ticket price to $20 so blue collar workers can afford to attend his shows.

What do you think? Does Kid Rocks generosity make up for his scandals?
